La Dolce Vita

Me standing in the light of the oculus... inside the pantheon

 The oculus of the Pantheon
Piazza Navona at Night and the 4 Rivers Fountain

The night walk started with us people watching in the Campo Di Fiori, where we then had dinner and then walked to the Piazza Navona, Followed by drinks and the Italy's best Gelato near the Pantheon... We then got a little lost trying to find the Trevi fountain... and a long windy way of finding our hostel... sometime around 4 am.... a long... but beautiful night.  The Pantheon shots above are from both that night and the next morning... they don't let you in the Pantheon at night. The piazza outside the pantheon and that walk was my favorite part of the Rome trip.

  1. Your photographs are amazing. What did you think of teh Trevi Fountain? When the Itlian soccer team won the World Cup in 2006 the Polizia allowed the Romans to swim in the fountain. This is unheard of. Needless to say, winning the World Cup gives every Italian a reason to celebrate!

  2. The Trevi fountain was quite beautiful... one of the ways that we knew we were getting close was because you could hear the rushing water, as if you were approaching a waterfall...not a fountain. I threw my coin in... which later I realized was a waste since I know for a fact I'm returning to Rome at the end of July. It is funny how everything seems completely different during the day than it does at night. That being said I don't think the Italian's need a reason to celebrate, they already celebrate life every day.
