The Academia and the Uffizi

So, apparently the last Tuesday of the month, after 7, they let you into the Academia and the Uffizi for free.  It was great.  The line was long to get into the Academia, but there was hardly anyone inside.   For those of you who don't know taking photos is FORBIDDEN in these galleries... so naturally I stole a few shots here and there... heh.   I actually had my friends playing blocker for me from the docents.  The Academia was particularly tough, since the photo nazi was circling the statue of David... but I still got one good one off my phone. mwah ha ha. So, here's a few photos for you from that evening... I got to see some really famous paintings.  Including Botticelli's Birth of Venus and La Primavera, Titian's Venus of Urbino, Carravaggio's Medusa and Bacchus, and the culmination of the beautiful painting viewing was Artemisia Gentelleschi's Judith Slaying Holofernes.  Since those are supppppperrrr famous I won't post those paintings.  But, I will post a painting I'm sure you've never seen before... and was terribly amusing to me.
